At Montana Trout Hunters, we are committed to delivering a world-class guided fly fishing experience on the Missouri River. We understand that unforeseen circumstances can occasionally impact travel plans, and we strive to handle all cancellations and refund requests with fairness and professionalism. This policy outlines our terms so that guests and guides alike are protected, and expectations are clear.

If you cancel your guided fishing trip with Montana Trout Hunters 90 or more days in advance of the scheduled date, your deposit will be refunded in full, minus any applicable credit card processing fees. Written notice must be provided via email, and cancellation is not confirmed until acknowledged by our office.

For cancellations made with less than 90 days’ notice, your deposit will only be refunded if we are able to rebook your guide for the same date. If we are successful in rescheduling the guide, your deposit will be refunded in full, less credit card fees if applicable. If we are unable to fill your spot, your deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled trip, or failure to appear for your guided fishing trip, will result in a charge for the full amount of the trip. Due to the difficulty of rebooking with such short notice, we are unable to offer any refund in these cases.

In rare instances where a trip must be canceled by Montana Trout Hunters, or by mutual agreement between the guide and the guest due to weather conditions, health-related concerns, or other uncontrollable circumstances, we will offer a full refund of your deposit. If rescheduling is preferred and availability allows, we are happy to move your trip to a later date within the same season.

We recognize that each situation is unique. While this policy sets a firm standard, we reserve the right to evaluate cancellations and refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Any exceptions are offered solely at our discretion and do not establish precedent for future bookings.

Refunds are processed to the same method of payment used at the time of booking. Credit card fees, typically 3%, are non-refundable. Guests may avoid these fees by paying via check in advance of their trip.

By booking a trip with Montana Trout Hunters, you acknowledge and accept the terms outlined in this Refund and Cancellation Policy. This agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Montana. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Yellowstone County, Montana.
