At Montana Trout Hunters, we are committed to providing a world-class guided fly fishing experience on the Missouri River. We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise that may impact your travel plans. This Refund and Cancellation Policy is designed to protect both our guests and our guides, while ensuring clear expectations.

Deposit and Payment Terms:

A 50% deposit is required within 10 days of booking to secure your trip date(s). Final payment is due upon arrival for your scheduled trip. Deposits may be paid via credit card, ACH transfer, or mailed check. Please note that all credit card transactions will include a 3% processing fee, which is non-refundable.

Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation with 90 or More Days’ Notice:
If you cancel your trip with 90 or more days’ notice before your scheduled trip date, your deposit will be refunded in full, less any applicable credit card processing fees. Written notice must be provided via email. Your cancellation will not be considered confirmed until it is acknowledged in writing by Montana Trout Hunters.

Cancellation with Less than 90 Days’ Notice:

If you cancel with less than 90 days’ notice, your deposit will only be refunded if we are able to rebook the assigned guide for the same date.

-If the guide is rebooked: You will receive a full refund of your deposit, less any applicable credit card fees.

-If the guide is not rebooked: Your deposit will be forfeited.

Cancellation Within 7 Days of the Trip Date:

If you cancel within 7 days of your scheduled trip date or fail to appear, the full trip cost will be charged. Due to the difficulty of rebooking guides on short notice, no refunds are available for last-minute cancellations.

Cancellations by Montana Trout Hunters

In rare cases where a trip must be canceled by Montana Trout Hunters or by mutual agreement between the guide and client due to weather, health concerns, or other uncontrollable circumstances, you will receive a full refund of your deposit. If preferred and availability allows, we are happy to reschedule your trip within the same calendar season at no additional charge.

Case-by-Case Considerations

We understand that each situation is unique. While this policy provides a clear standard, Montana Trout Hunters reserves the right to evaluate cancellations and refund requests on a case-by-case basis. Exceptions are made solely at our discretion and do not establish precedent for future bookings.

Payment and Processing Details

All refunds will be issued to the original method of payment. Please note:

-Credit card processing fees (3%) are non-refundable.
-Guests may avoid these fees by paying their deposit and final balance by check if arranged in advance.

Legal Jurisdiction

By booking a trip with Montana Trout Hunters, you acknowledge and accept the terms outlined in this Refund and Cancellation Policy.

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Montana. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Lewis and Clark County, Montana
