Montana Trout Hunters was founded in 2014 by Darrel, a passionate angler and professional photographer with a deep love for Montana’s rivers. A native of Billings, Montana, Darrel dedicated over 26 years to serving in the Army and Air Force before returning home to pursue his lifelong passion for fly fishing.

With a strong connection to the outdoors and a natural talent for teaching, Darrel established Montana Trout Hunters to share his knowledge and expertise with others. What started as a way to help friends and fellow anglers refine their skills has grown into a premier guiding service, offering unforgettable fishing experiences across some of Montana’s most iconic waters.

At Montana Trout Hunters, we believe fly fishing is more than just catching fish—it’s about learning, exploring, and immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. We offer guided float trips on the Madison and Missouri Rivers, as well as walk/wade trips on the Gallatin River.
